Welcome to SF Behavior Lab, where science, play, training, experimentation and randomness all come together to create an experience that is equal parts laughing and learning.
We offer workshops that tackle subjects like collaboration, relationship building, influence and public speaking, and offer our participants a fun and easy way to explore these themes and gain valuable insights about themselves and the world around them.
There’s a Chinese proverb: “What I hear, I forget. What I see, I remember. What I do, I understand.” SF Behavior Lab is about jumping in and doing, and learning through active participation. But more than that, it’s about playing. Many studies have shown that play is the key to accelerated learning. Using the tools of improv theater and a variety of creative games, SF Behavior Lab gets participants playing, and laughing, and discovering.
We believe that the right behavioral tools can help business leaders be charismatic, enable teams to collaborate seamlessly, and transform workplaces into liberating, inspiring environments. Furthermore, we believe that the same knowledge can be used to promote functional, supportive societies and enhance the social good.
Our methods span everything from software simulations to evenings of shared games. Our research interests cover fields as diverse as applied improvisation, behavioral economics, motivation theory, artificial intelligence, complex systems and influence psychology.
We seek new ways of looking at culture, education, and organizational improvement through open workshops, interactive experiments, and research in which anyone can take part. We want to unpick what makes society work and then deliver that knowledge back to our members.
We believe that everyone can improve, and we’re starting with ourselves.
